Sir Cliff Richard was born Harry Rodger Webb on October 14, 1940, in Lucknow, India. He is the son of Rodger Oscar Webb and Dorothy Marie Dazely. His father was a catering contractor in the Indian Railways. Following the Direct Action Day violence, his family moved to England permanently. Richard went to Kings Road Junior Mixed Infant School followed by Chestnut Secondary Modern School.
