David Phelps spent his childhood in Texas. He was born to Gene Phelps (father) and Mary Ella Phelps (mother). His father had been an accountant. He presently teaches finance and business at a famous college in Houston. His mother had been an English Professor but has retired now. He has two elder sisters, Sherri Proctor. She used to sing backup vocals for him but died in September 2012 from cancer. The other one is Kari Lee, who is a professional trumpeter who mostly tours with the Millar Brass Ensemble.

  12. I just discovered David’s great love for the Lord and his great voice, Writing lyrics. I was going through awful withdrawal from prescribed opioids. The song No more night, no more pain, no more tears, never crying again. It was if David knew what I was going through! My Dr retired and by grace of God, I am seeing a Dr that got me off drugs fast. He later revealed that I was close to death! One song to another to another. Every time I could, I was listening to David. The sleepless nights, painful muscle spasms and great pain {I blamed it to Quick withdrawal}.These symptoms continued. This great Dr is now looking for tumors! I will listen to Davids’s songs till the day I die. Please tell me what David die from. All my condolences to his wife, children and his parents.
