Jyoti Bansal was born in Rajasthan, India, on 6th May 1977. We know nothing of his parents, and we are also not sure if he has any siblings. His father was a businessman and mainly dealt in small farm equipment retail businesses. He often helped his father to run his business during his childhood.
He was an excellent student and always got good marks. After school, he decided to take up engineering as a career option. So, he got himself an admission at one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in India, the Indian Institue of Technology- Delhi.
He took computer science as his major and studied computer science for four years, from 1995 to 1999. After getting the degree, he decided to make most of his knowledge and hence got himself a job in Silicon Valley and therefore, moved to the United States in 2000 and has been staying there ever since.
