TSM, which stands for Team SoloMid, is a professional esports organization, based in the U.S. which was founded in September of 2009 by Andy “Reginald” Dinh. TSM currently fields players in League of Legends, Apex Legends, Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros., PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Fortnite, Rocket League, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Magic: The Gathering Arena and Garena Free Fire. TSM’s League of Legends Team has won 6 of the total ten splits in North America’s League of Legends Championship Series, or more commonly known as LCS.
TSM was founded by Andy “Reginald” Dinh in September of 2009 as a League of Legends community website and playing guide resource. Two years later, the organization began fielding a team to compete in the professional League of Legends competition. Reginald, SaintVicious, Chaox, TheOddOne, and Locodoco formed the original roster. Reginald retired from active competition in 2013 to focus on running the business full-time.
On 25th of January 2015, TSM acquired Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster of Team Dignitas. Two months later, the League of Legends team won their first Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in Poland. A month later, TSM signed popular gamer, Leffen as their first fighting game player. On 1st of August 2015, TSM signed ZeRo to their Super Smash Bros. division, who would go on to achieve 56 straight tournament wins in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, a record which is in the Guinness World Records.
They began competing in 2011 in a league of legends with and have participated in every season since then. They have participated from Season 1 to Season 7 and from pre-season 2 to pre-season eight and pre-season 10. When it comes to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, they initially played under the name “Team Question Mark” until founding their organization, Astralis. Australia has been the winner of four Majors, ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 FACEIT Major London 2018, IEM Katowice 2019 Major, and StarLadder Major Berlin 2019.
TSM has competed in the 2016 CoD: World League as well but withdrew from the CoD owing to the team’s poor performance in World League Stage 2. TSM has entered into the Indian e-sporting scene by partnering with the PUBG Mobile team of Entity Gaming in March of 2020. The entity was renamed as TSM Entity (TSMxENT) following the partnership announcement. TSM had also acquired a Rainbow Six Siege team on the 16th of June 2019. TSM enjoys sponsorship deals with reputed brands like Lenovo, GEICO, Logitech, GrubHub, and Twitch.
